Auburn in Fukushima

So as stated in the previous post this is an attempt to gain a perspective of the world relating to where I live. One way to think about it is that I am taking the main area of my town and plopping it down in the middle of some other part of the world using a 5 mile long line and three consistent altitudes to maintain a sense of scale. A reason for doing this is to gain different perspective on the world. Whether it be a current event or some place I have visited before.

For today I want to think about what it would be like for Auburn to be in the area around the Fukusima nuclear power plant disaster.

I start with the 5 mile line across Auburn from an altitude of 5 miles.

Now the area around the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Now Fukushima from 25 miles up.

Auburn from 25 miles up.

Fukushima from 125 miles up.

And finally Auburn from 125 miles up.

It is amazing to me to think about my community suffering in the way the area around Fukushima is now.
